LähiTapiola Hohka's Restaurant Renovation – A Versatile and Cozy Dining Environment

The restaurant at the Hohka property in Tapiola, LähiTapiola, was renovated to meet the needs of a modern work environment. The goal was to transform the former cafeteria into a cozy, restaurant-like space that can be easily adapted to various needs. The starting point for the renovation was to create a high-quality, functional, and inviting environment that complements the property’s sophisticated aesthetic.

Flock was responsible for the restaurant’s interior design and spatial planning. A restaurant-like atmosphere was created in the space through versatile seating areas, carefully designed lighting, and a cohesive palette of materials and colors that complement the conference center’s aesthetic. Oak, various shades of green, sand gray, and black come together to form a timeless and harmonious environment.

The renovation was carried out in accordance with the principles of sustainable design, making use of existing furniture and materials. For example, the old tables were refurbished by applying tape, and the existing floor was restored by sanding.

Acoustic solutions were used to enhance the comfort and usability of the spaces. Acoustic panels installed on the ceiling, green plants, and varied furniture arrangements create a pleasant acoustic environment and accommodate different uses. The restaurant’s functionality was improved with new service counters. Art adds the finishing touch to the overall design, bringing personality and a unique atmosphere to the space.

The end result was a versatile, inviting, and timeless restaurant environment that supports the daily lives of the building’s users and provides a high-quality setting for a variety of needs.
