Two wins to take home
The commercial film Suojelija (‘Protector’) was truly blessed with good fortune. At the 28th Voitto Gala (the Finnish Commercial Film Awards), held on 9 March 2023, Suojelija was the winner in the Social and Cultural category and also took home the Grand Prix award.
This is the first time that the winner in this category was selected as the best commercial movie in the entire competition. Suojelija’s success can be attributed to an overall concept in which the narrative, music and mood come together seamlessly. “Artful and thought-provoking, it gets under your skin.”
The purpose of the Voitto competition is to raise the bar of Finnish commercial film, as well as an appreciation for it, and to foster the skills of the professionals in the industry.
Suojelija is a fundraising campaign launched by the Helsinki Mother and Child Home Association (Helsingin ensikoti) and created by Flock and Centura ry to help newborns and their families in the Helsinki region.
