Restaurant Jason was chosen as the fourth best restaurant in Finland's 50 Best Restaurants list

As a new restaurant in the top five, Jason moved up to number four. The restaurant only opened last year and immediately won the best newcomer award. Jason was also featured in the April issue of the prestigious Monocle.
Jason is the first restaurant owned by Michelin-starred chef Jari Vesivalo. The idea was to create a restaurant where you could sit and enjoy good food in the "good dining" spirit.
A suitable space for the restaurant, seating around 60 people, was found on Yrjönkatu in the Art Nouveau building managed by Trevian. The space, which once also served as a site restaurant, required a complete renovation of both the hall and the kitchen. Flock's task was to work with key people at Jason's to design the brand image, spaces and interior design in line with Jason's concept.
The aim of the space and interior design was to create a stylish living room for casual evening dining and socialising. The space was naturally divided into three different functions: a library bar with a safe converted into a wine storage room. In the centre is the hall, where the bar counter and most of the customer seating is located. At the rear of the space is a cabinet which can be converted into a private function room if required.
"The bar counter was designed to be so inviting that you can also dine at it and enjoy the atmosphere of the restaurant. The lighting was kept atmospheric and warm. Jason's own curtain lights were designed into the ceiling to soften the space and improve the acoustics of the restaurant. The colour scheme was kept simple and calm. The dark walnut-coloured herringbone parquet adds warmth and softness to the interior," says architect Anna Kyyhkynen.
