Flock wins in the Rakli Workplace Awards 2023

Trevian office designed by Flock wins Rakli Workplace Awards 2023

Trevian’s new office at Erottaja2 was awarded in the physical work environment category. The jury especially commended the focus on brain ergonomics, the cosy atmosphere and respect for the old architecture in the office renovation.

Rakli’s and IFMA Finland’s Workplace Awards competition looked for the best work environments in the categories of sustainability, new tools and technologies, corporate culture and physical work environment. The annual competition attracted a whopping 27 participants this year.

Trevian’s new premises at Erottaja2 were designed to meet the changed space requirements of the post-pandemic era. The goal was to create an office primarily designed for meeting colleagues and customers while also offering a quiet environment for brain work. This was supported by the brain work project implemented together with the Finnish Institute of Occupational Health, aimed at enhancing and developing employees’ well-being.

The space solutions were designed to support cognitive ergonomics, which resulted in three different open-plan workspaces divided by volume: a collaborative space that allows for speech, a quiet space that allows for quiet voices and a quiet space for independent work.

"Trevian’s new premises are an ambitious response to the space requirements brought about by the pandemic. The goal of our project was to create a home-like office environment that emphasises meetings with colleagues and customers and a quiet atmosphere for brain work. The brain work project we implemented together with the Finnish Institute of Occupational Health was an essential part of this process. We constantly strive to support and foster our employees’ well-being, and we firmly believe that the premises at Erottaja2 will help us achieve our goal," says Trevian’s HR Director Tiina Kaakkolahti.

Well-being through bold changes

The new office was designed by the concept and design agency Flock. The office’s interior design draws on a vibrant colour scheme that fuels both creativity and boldness. The new office is welcoming and comfortable, and it combines multi-location work, flexibility and communality.

The jury particularly praised the homely atmosphere of the office, which makes it a cosy and inspiring place to work. The office space is designed to create a relaxing atmosphere that fosters creativity and a sense of community. The old architecture of the building was respected through a solemn and subtle renovation.‍

"The aim was to make the staff feel comfortable in the new premises, and to provide them with the best possible working space. The design focused in particular on the uses of the space, so that it could cater for different ways of working. The design principles were homely, inspiring and atmospheric. The colour palette was composed of strong tones, respecting the architecture of the building, and almost all the old furniture was reused, reupholstered and with a new look." says Flock's architect Anna Kyyhkynen.
